Is ChatGPT sending you jobs? AI lead tracking for home service businesses

Movers, roofers, plumbers, HVAC, cleaners, landscapers: homeowners now ask ChatGPT and Gemini who to call. Find out how many of your booked jobs, and how much revenue, came from those recommendations.

Why your reports can’t see it

Not sure it’s happening to you? Start with the 15-minute check.

A homeowner asks ChatGPT, “Who’s a reliable mover in Austin for a 3-bedroom house?” They get three names. They don’t click. They Google yours, look at your reviews, and call. Your call tracking says Google. Your analytics says Google. ChatGPT made the shortlist and gets no credit.

That’s normal in home services, where most customers phone for a quote instead of buying online. Web analytics and GA4’s new AI channel only see clicks, so they miss most of it.

How Which AI Sent counts AI jobs

  1. Web leads: when someone clicks through from ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity and later fills in your quote form (within 90 days), the lead is Confirmed AI.
  2. Phone leads: your team asks “How did you first hear about us?” on every call and logs the answer in a click (or in your CRM). A caller who says ChatGPT is a Declared AI lead.
  3. Booked jobs: mark the job won with its value, or import your CRM export weekly. It merges by phone or email, bringing in estimate, booked status and final revenue.
  4. The monthly report: AI bookings and revenue, AI’s share of the total, the split by assistant, and how often the question was actually asked.

The “asked” rate matters. If reps only ask half of callers, you’ll see that, so a low AI number isn’t mistaken for “AI doesn’t work”.

Setup for a busy office

  • Website: one click on WordPress or Wix, or send your web person the one-line snippet we give you.
  • Quote form: add a dropdown, “How did you first hear about us?”, with Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, Other AI, Facebook/Instagram, Referral, Other. We can add it for you.
  • Phones: a sticky note by the phone with the same question. Log answers from the dashboard, or map the field from your CRM.
  • CRM: SmartMoving, Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, GoHighLevel and others work through a weekly CSV export, and through Zapier or webhooks where your CRM supports them.

Why the question works so well: the most valuable question you’re not asking.

Getting recommended in the first place

AI assistants lean on the same signals customers trust: reviews, consistent business details across directories, a clear service-area page, and being mentioned on local and industry sites. Which AI Sent checks weekly whether ChatGPT names you for questions like “best mover near me” and shows who it names instead, so you know where you stand. Details: visibility vs attribution.

FAQ

Home services questions

Most of our leads come by phone. Is this worth it?

Especially then. Web analytics can’t see phone customers at all. Asking the source question and logging answers is the only way to count AI-driven calls, and the report shows how consistently it’s asked.

Does it work with our moving or field-service CRM?

Yes, through a CSV export imported weekly (matched by phone or email) or Zapier/webhooks for CRMs that support them.

Is our customers’ data safe?

No IP addresses are stored, no advertising cookies are set, and nothing is sold. See Data & tracking.

How much does it cost?

From $20 a month per website, free during early access. Multi-location companies can track up to 5 sites on Pro.
