Track ChatGPT and AI leads on WordPress

Connect in one click

1. Create a free account and enter your WordPress site’s address. We detect that it runs WordPress.
2. In Setup, click Connect WordPress.
3. WordPress opens its own Authorize Application screen. Log in as an administrator and click Approve. This uses WordPress’s built-in Application Passwords, so you never share your password with us.
4. We install and activate the Which AI Sent plugin, fill in your site key, and send you back to the dashboard showing Connected.

If your host blocks automatic plugin installs, install the plugin yourself: download which-ai-sent.zip, upload it under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, then go to Settings → Which AI Sent and paste your site key.

Check it’s working

Click Open my website as a ChatGPT visitor in Setup. Your site opens as if someone clicked through from ChatGPT, and within a few seconds the dashboard shows “It works!”. Test visits are never counted.

What gets tracked

• Where each visit came from: AI assistants, Google, Bing, social, email, paid and direct.
• Contact and quote forms: submissions from your WordPress forms become leads with their source and the pages the person read first.
• WooCommerce orders: each order is counted with its number, total and currency only, so you can see which sales came from AI. No customer or product details are sent.
• “How did you first hear about us?”: optional. We can add it to your forms to catch people who asked an AI and then came back another way.

What the plugin doesn’t do

• It doesn’t change your theme, pages or content.
• It doesn’t store visitors’ IP addresses or set advertising cookies, and it respects Global Privacy Control.
• It doesn’t conflict with Google Analytics, Site Kit or other analytics plugins. Keep them.
• It loads asynchronously, so it has negligible effect on page speed and Core Web Vitals.

Using page builders and caching

The plugin adds its script through WordPress itself, so it works with Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, Gutenberg and classic themes alike. With a caching or optimisation plugin (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, Autoptimize), clear the cache once after connecting. If the plugin delays JavaScript, exclude whichaisent.com/t.js from delay so visits are recorded on arrival.

Removing it

Disconnect in Setup → Stop tracking this website, or deactivate and delete the plugin in WordPress. To revoke our access entirely, go to Users → Profile → Application Passwords and revoke “Which AI Sent”.
